Ash firewood

Ash firewood takes the longest to catch flame. It burns with a high flame and burns-out fairly quickly. Ash firewood does not release a lot of heat when trying to heat up a sauna or a stove. On the other hand it easily catches fire when put into an already heated stove, and maintains heat for long periods of time. Ash firewood does not produce much smoke, therefore they are chimney friendly.
